The brain trust of two lawyer-creatives, Heidi & Sarah, who don’t take themselves too seriously. We might spent the morning decoding a motion for summary judgment and then the afternoon decoding a birth chart. We are friends and collaborators always exploring new ways to bring more magic into daily life.

OHEI Academy
OHei Academy’s mission is to give artists and creators the tools they need to establish a successful business and have the freedom to create their own way.
Our Approach
We’re here to create a community of successful and savvy artists, creators, and entrepreneurs who feel empowered to establish themselves in the complex world of art. Creators should be given the space to create freely, but establishing a creative-based business can be intimidating. This can especially be the case for POCs, people who identify as women, and first-generation creative professionals.
OHei Academy offers tools, resources, and knowledge through a collection of group calls with experts, mentoring, and collective learning. When you are part of OHei Academy, you are part of a community where we learn and build together.
OHei Academy wants to support all artists and creators, whether your art is a hobby you just started or a full-time business you’ve operated for years. We offer a range of courses and packages for wherever you are on your journey. Plans start as low as $200 and we are happy to be flexible with participants under financial strain or from underserved and underrepresented backgrounds through our OHei Academy Scholarship.
1-on-1 Mentoring Plans (Spots Available Now!)
Focused Plan: Heidi & Sarah will work with you on 1 specific area for 1 month
Development Plan: Heidi & Sarah will work with you on 1 specific area, with 1-2 related areas, for 2-3 months
Growth Plan: Heidi & Sarah will work with you on big picture and targeted areas with guidance and review by Sarah for 6-8 months

Growth Plan: up to 10 people from your org will work with Sarah and Heidi on 2-3 organizational goals for 3- or 6-months*
Mentoring of Mentors: 1-month long program to train current and aspiring mentors, trainers, instructors, and leaders

About Heidi & Sarah
Heidi and Sarah are creatives, colleagues, lawyers, and, most importantly, close friends, who want to utilize their backgrounds, passions, and expertise to address the gaps in knowledge available to up-and-coming artists. As feminists and women of color, Heidi and Sarah are all too familiar with how difficult it can be to access the spaces needed to be successful without all the tools and support that are unfortunately not always available to people with marginalized identities in exclusive spaces.
Heidi Nielson has put the principles and tools of OHei Academy into practice with her own studio and fine art business. She has firsthand experience with the challenges artists face and balancing a creative business with a more traditional day job. Heidi has served as a mentor to several creatives in different stages on their journey, and provides a healthy dose of her Virgo thoughtfulness and meticulousness to helping you achieve your creative and business goals!
Heidi’s artwork includes fine art, prints and illustrations, murals, installation art, and much more. Follow her @heidinielson.art and @oheistudio.
Sarah Mirza has grown up around creative businesses and entrepreneurship, and has personally seen and learned from the challenges and successes of her South Asian immigrant mother’s floral business. Sarah’s course of study in her Master’s program and law school focused on organizational culture, program development and management, business and human rights, and other approaches to establish and sustain an ethical and culturally mindful business or initiative. She has used these approaches as a consultant for UNESCO in Paris and Sierra Leone and as a Legal Fellow for the Initiative for Corporate Sustainability in Santiago, Chile.
Sarah’s art-based interests include fashion and makeup, interior design, floral design, and art as a tool for cultural empowerment. Follow her @thereluctantcreativist.
